Lisa Fiorenza was born and raised in Las Vegas,Nevada as a daughter of a homemaker and a testsite engineer. At the urging of her grandfather,a bandleader and musician from Italy, Lisa began piano studies at the age of 10. Her love for music showed as she spent hours practicing at the piano daily. Soon she was playing professionally on piano and organ at the age of 16 for the local wedding chapels and church services. She went on to study music at the University of Las Vegas because she wanted to stay close to her family. When she was a sophomore in college she won a piano concerto competition and then performed with the orchestra. She also represented Nevada in a national collegiate piano competition. During her studies for piano performance, she decided to pursue Master's studies in music composition. She received her Master's Degree in Music in 1994.During the years 1984-1988 Lisa wrote for small ensembles, percussion ensemble, orchestra and band and 3 suites for piano. Then for personal reasons, she stopped writing music for about a decade. As she loved teaching children, she soon began a career in teaching piano. She has served as president of the Las Vegas Music Teachers Association, and started a fundraising event for charities such as Toys For Tots and The Animal Foundation Shelter called the Play-A-Thon and also began a private annual event in 1992 that lasted 10 years called the Jr. Piano Competition for children and teens. She began writing music again after she remarried in 1995. Her husband, Rick, is also a photographer and is the author of the CD covers. Lisa continues teaching piano today and also performs for her church in her hometown.
